BFCM in 25 daysBlack Friday is in 25 days. Is your Shopify store ready?
Free checklist & auditGet the free BFCM checklist & auditToolbox promised simplified store management through reporting, bulk editing, and notifications, but with zero reviews and a 0/5 rating, it's understandable why merchants are seeking alternatives. Common pain points with underperforming apps often include a lack of crucial features, unreliable performance, poor customer support, or a disconnect between the promised functionality and the actual user experience. Merchants rely on apps to improve efficiency, so a tool that doesn't deliver can quickly become a burden. Specifically, Toolbox aimed to provide custom collection tracking, mass editing, automated notifications for price changes, and SEO help with missing image tracking. If the app failed to deliver on these promises or proved difficult to use, merchants would naturally seek solutions that offer similar features with proven reliability and positive user feedback. Many Shopify apps accomplish similar tasks, so there are a lot of options!
Simplified store management by improving reporting, enabling bulk editing and giving notifications.
This app isn't a direct replacement for Toolbox. It focuses on store migration and data importing, which is helpful if moving to a new Shopify store but doesn't address bulk editing, reporting, or notifications.
Ideal for stores migrating data from one Shopify store to another.
Metafields are the key to a unique storefront. Our app is the key to metafields. It's that simple.
While Metafields Guru doesn't directly replicate Toolbox's reporting or notification features, it offers powerful bulk editing capabilities for metafields, allowing for detailed product customization. It excels at managing data crucial for a unique storefront experience, potentially replacing some of Toolbox's intended custom collection tracking functionality if custom fields are used.
Best for merchants who need advanced control over product data and storefront customization using metafields.
Stop wasting hours editing your products, variants, or collections! Save time with a bulk edit app.
QuickEdit directly addresses Toolbox's core feature of bulk product editing. It allows merchants to efficiently edit thousands of products, variants, and collections, including prices, descriptions, titles, and inventory, potentially saving significant time. It also provides scheduling and reverting options for increased control.
Best for merchants who need a powerful and efficient way to bulk edit product information.
Merge separate products into one standard product with native variants – powered by AI.
If the custom collection tracking goal of Toolbox was to simplify product variations and management, Merges AI offers a different approach. It merges separate products into one with native variants, using AI to build options and unify descriptions, which could streamline product organization and potentially improve SEO.
Best for merchants who want to consolidate similar products into single listings with variants.
Draftable is not a direct alternative to Toolbox. It assists with draft order management, a feature not offered by Toolbox.
Ideal for merchants who frequently create and manage draft orders.
Delete duplicate products or duplicate variants. Remove duplicate SKUs, EANs with duplicate finder.
CS - Delete Duplicate Products addresses a different aspect of product data management. If Toolbox was intended to improve data accuracy, removing duplicate products can contribute to that goal. However, it doesn't offer the broader range of features.
Best for merchants who want to identify and remove duplicate products or variants from their store.
Seamless, automated tags for smart customer segmentation, workflows, and emails.
SC Customer Tagging is not a direct replacement for Toolbox but offers a different way to improve store management. If Toolbox's custom collection tracking and reporting were intended to improve customer segmentation, this app provides a focused approach to tagging customers based on behavior for targeted marketing and automation.
Best for merchants who want to improve customer segmentation and personalize marketing efforts through automated tagging.
Bulk edit products, prices & more-instant previews and one-click undo for any change. Schedule edits
EditEngine Bulk Product Editor is a strong alternative to Toolbox, directly addressing its promised bulk editing capabilities. It allows merchants to edit unlimited products with advanced filtering, offers real-time previews, and provides a one-click revert option, making it a safe and efficient tool for product management.
Best for merchants who need a comprehensive bulk product editor with advanced features and safety nets.
One app to automate returns, exchanges, refunds, store credits, and RTOs
Quick Returns and Exchanges is focused on post-purchase experiences and doesn't address the areas that Toolbox was intended for (bulk editing, reporting).
Ideal for merchants who want to streamline and automate their returns and exchanges process.
Customer subscriptions, add products to your store, and handle multi-distributor ordering.
Manage Comics 2 Subscriptions caters to a very specific niche and does not serve as an alternative to Toolbox's generalized store management features.
Ideal for comic book retailers who want to offer subscriptions and manage distributor ordering.
Given Toolbox's 0/5 rating and lack of reviews, it might not provide the reliable performance and features you need for efficient store management. Switching to a well-reviewed app could save you time and frustration.
QuickEdit: Bulk Product Edit and EditEngine Bulk Product Editor are the most direct alternatives for bulk product editing. They offer similar features for quickly updating product information across your store.
Consider using metafields with Metafields Guru to create custom data points for your products, which can then be used to filter and manage 'collections' through strategic implementation. Alternatively, focus on customer tagging with SC Customer Tagging, tagging customers based on behavior rather than products.
None of the listed alternatives directly replicate the automated price change notifications mentioned in Toolbox's description. Consider using a dedicated pricing management app that monitors competitor pricing and automatically adjusts your prices accordingly.
Unfortunately, none of the listed apps directly address missing image alt text. You might need to seek out an SEO-focused app that specifically scans your store for missing alt text and provides tools for adding them in bulk.
