Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on building and nurturing an email/SMS marketing list, 1Click Popups is the clear winner. Its features cater specifically to list growth and integration with major email marketing platforms. The Shop integration provides a unique advantage for capturing leads from a large user base.
However, for merchants seeking a quick and easy way to boost sales by leveraging social proof, Proof Bear ‑ Sales Popup is the better choice. Its plug-and-play functionality, customization options, and focus on sales notifications make it ideal for creating a sense of urgency and increasing conversion rates. It's particularly suited for stores with high traffic and diverse product ranges, where showcasing recent sales can be highly effective.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a beginner?
Proof Bear likely offers a quicker setup for beginners with its one-click templates and claim of 'no coding required'. While 1Click Popups has a visual editor, the wider array of features may require more initial exploration.
Which app is better for stores that already have a large customer base?
1Click Popups can still be valuable for engaging existing customers and promoting specific offers. However, Proof Bear's social proof features might be more impactful in converting window shoppers into buyers within an established customer base.
Which app is better for a brand new store with low traffic?
Neither app will be particularly effective with very low traffic. 1Click Popups might be slightly better as it builds the email list from scratch, allowing one to start marketing when the number of subscribers is appreciable. Proof Bear will not show any sales if they don't happen.
Does Proof Bear collect emails? If not, can it work together with 1Click Popups?
The description for Proof Bear doesn't explicitly state that it collects email addresses. It focuses on social proof through sales notifications. The two apps could theoretically work together; 1Click Popups could be used for capturing emails, while Proof Bear could provide social proof based on sales generated as a result of the marketing efforts.
Which app is better for capturing abandoned carts?
1Click Popups mentions cart savers as a feature. While Proof Bear aims to increase sales generally, it doesn't explicitly focus on abandoned cart recovery.
