1PLANET Carbon Offset vs Tax Rex ‑ Sales Tax Automationfor Shopify (2026)
1PLANET Carbon Offset and Tax Rex are both 5-star rated Shopify apps in the Finances category, but cater to vastly different needs and target audiences. 1PLANET focuses on sustainability, allowing merchants to offer carbon-neutral shipping and support environmental projects, appealing to eco-conscious businesses and customers. Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing sustainability and aiming to attract environmentally conscious customers, 1PLANET Carbon Offset offers a compelling solution. Its blockchain-based transparency is a unique selling point, though the single review is a concern. However, if you are a US-based e-commerce business struggling with sales tax compliance, Tax Rex ‑ Sales Tax Automation is the clear choice. Its robust features, including automated filing, accurate reporting, and economic nexus alerts, provide significant value in simplifying a complex and potentially costly area of business operations. While 1PLANET caters to a specific brand value, Tax Rex addresses a more universal business necessity.
