506 EasyScan SKU & Barcode vs POS Variable Priced Productsfor Shopify (2026)
506 EasyScan SKU & Barcode and POS Variable Priced Products cater to distinct needs within the Shopify ecosystem. EasyScan focuses on streamlining inventory management and order fulfillment through barcode scanning and SKU generation. It aims to improve warehouse operations and reduce errors in picking, packing, and shipping. POS Variable Priced Products, conversely, addresses the specific challenge of selling variable-priced goods directly through Shopify POS. It allows for real-time price adjustments during sales, integrating those adjustments into Shopify's reporting, and automatically manages inventory levels for the underlying base product. The core difference lies in their target users and functionalities. EasyScan is ideal for merchants dealing with substantial inventory, requiring efficient barcode-based workflows for fulfillment, and benefiting from tools like SKU generation and barcode printing. POS Variable Priced Products, on the other hand, serves retailers who frequently need to adjust prices at the point of sale, such as florists, vintage clothing sellers, or jewelers. This app helps maintain consistent reporting and inventory management even with variable pricing, a feat typically difficult to achieve with standard Shopify POS functionality. While both apps address Shopify merchants 'Selling in person', their approaches and core functionalities are very different.
