506 GetSale Bulk Discounts App vs Metal Updaterfor Shopify (2026)
506 GetSale Bulk Discounts App and Metal Updater cater to very different segments of the Shopify market, despite both falling under the 'Pricing' and 'Pricing optimization' categories. 506 GetSale focuses on general bulk discounting and promotional sales strategies, providing tools for scheduling discounts, applying percentage or fixed price reductions across products and collections, and displaying countdown timers to boost sales urgency. The app's strength lies in its comprehensive discount management features and its popularity, indicated by a high rating and substantial review count. Metal Updater, in contrast, targets jewelry stores specifically. Its core functionality is automatically updating prices based on live metal market rates, ensuring accurate and profitable pricing in response to fluctuating material costs. While both apps aim to optimize pricing, they do so using fundamentally different approaches. 506 GetSale empowers merchants to proactively create sales events and manage discounts, while Metal Updater offers a reactive solution for maintaining pricing accuracy in a volatile market. The ease of use depends on the use case; 506 GetSale likely requires more manual configuration for each sale, while Metal Updater automates price adjustments based on predefined formulas and live data. However, Metal Updater's single, extremely positive, but relatively very few reviews suggest a younger app with potentially unknown stability or support compared to 506 GetSale, which enjoys a larger base of satisfied users.

Our Verdict
For the vast majority of Shopify merchants looking to implement sales strategies and offer bulk discounts, 506 GetSale Bulk Discounts App is the superior choice. Its established user base, high rating, and comprehensive feature set for managing sales events make it a reliable and effective solution. Metal Updater is purpose-built for a very specific niche: jewelry stores whose pricing is directly tied to precious metal rates. If you fall into this category, Metal Updater is the only logical choice. However, given the very limited review count as of 2026, merchants should proceed cautiously and thoroughly test the app's functionality and reliability before relying on it for critical pricing decisions.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
It depends on the merchant's needs. Metal Updater might be easier initially for jewelers, as it focuses on automating price updates based on metal rates. 506 GetSale likely requires more initial configuration to set up sales events and discount rules.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
It's unlikely you'd need both. If you're a jeweler using Metal Updater, 506 GetSale would be redundant as you wouldn't manually set discounts in the same way.
Which app offers better customer support?
Based on the review counts, 506 GetSale has a significantly larger user base, suggesting more opportunities for community support and a more established support infrastructure. Metal Updater's support quality is unknown due to the very low review count.
Does either app integrate with other marketing tools?
The descriptions do not explicitly mention integrations with other marketing tools for either app. However, 506 GetSale's countdown timer suggests a focus on marketing and promotional aspects.
Which app provides better long-term value?
For jewelers reliant on metal prices, Metal Updater offers significant long-term value by automating price adjustments and saving time. For other merchants, 506 GetSale provides ongoing value by enabling them to strategically manage sales events and boost revenue.
