8returns ‑ Returns portal vs Frate Returns and Resalefor Shopify (2026)
Both 8returns - Returns portal and Frate Returns and Resale aim to streamline the returns process for Shopify merchants in 2026, with both boasting a perfect 5/5 rating. However, 8returns appears to be positioned as a more comprehensive, all-in-one returns platform with a strong emphasis on customization and customer retention. This is supported by features like dynamic rules based on various parameters, integrated analytics, and multiple return options (exchanges, store credit, repairs). It targets merchants seeking to build a branded and robust returns experience, turning returns into a positive touchpoint to strengthen customer loyalty. Frate Returns and Resale, while lacking specific feature details in the provided data, likely focuses on return and resale functionality. The lower number of reviews (6 compared to 8returns' 30) suggests it may be newer or have a smaller user base. While both aim to automate returns, 8returns explicitly emphasizes a fully customizable experience and advanced analytics, suggesting a higher level of control and insights for merchants who need it. The absence of detailed features for Frate means its value proposition remains unclear relative to the feature-rich 8returns.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a highly customizable, data-driven, and brand-centric returns experience with a focus on customer retention through features like exchanges and store credit, 8returns - Returns portal is the clear choice. Its comprehensive feature set and higher review count suggest a more mature and widely adopted solution.
However, if a merchant's primary focus is simply managing basic returns and exploring resale options, and they are less concerned with extensive customization or in-depth analytics, Frate Returns and Resale *could* be a viable option. However, the lack of detailed information makes it difficult to recommend Frate without further understanding its specific functionalities and strengths. Merchants should investigate further before committing.
