8returns ‑ Returns portal vs Insure Sellfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, 8returns - Returns portal and Insure Sell are Shopify apps competing in the Returns and warranty category, but they address fundamentally different merchant needs. 8returns positions itself as an all-in-one returns management platform focused on automating and streamlining the returns process. Its core strength lies in providing a customizable, self-service returns portal with features designed to retain customers through exchanges, store credit, and detailed return analytics. Insure Sell, on the other hand, concentrates on increasing sales through shipping insurance and upsell functionality, prioritizing average order value and customer engagement. The key differentiator is their focus. 8returns is ideal for merchants looking to optimize the returns experience and build customer loyalty through a seamless returns process. Insure Sell is targeted towards merchants primarily concerned with boosting sales and revenue through shipping protection and strategic upselling at various points in the customer journey (cart page and thank you page). The lack of ratings and reviews for Insure Sell suggests it's a relatively new or unproven app compared to 8returns, which has a perfect rating and a solid number of reviews.
