8returns ‑ Returns portal vs Parcel Protectfor Shopify (2026)
8returns - Returns portal and Parcel Protect both address crucial aspects of the post-purchase experience for Shopify merchants in 2026, but cater to distinct needs. 8returns focuses on streamlining and optimizing the return process itself. It provides a self-serve portal, customizable policies, and tools to encourage exchanges or store credit, ultimately aiming to improve customer retention and reduce return rates. Its strength lies in its comprehensive return management features and focus on branding the return experience. Parcel Protect, on the other hand, is a shipping insurance and claims management platform. It addresses the risk of goods being lost, damaged, or stolen during transit. Its value proposition is providing peace of mind for both the merchant and the customer by covering potential losses and handling insurance claims efficiently. Parcel Protect simplifies the process of offering shipping insurance, minimizing the merchant's risk and providing a seamless claims experience. The key differentiator is its coverage of shipping-related issues, a pain point not addressed by 8returns.
