8returns ‑ Returns portal vs Product Registration by Dyrectfor Shopify (2026)
8returns ‑ Returns portal and Product Registration by Dyrect both aim to improve the post-purchase experience, but they address fundamentally different aspects. 8returns focuses on streamlining the returns process itself, providing merchants with tools to automate returns, manage exchanges and store credit, and customize the returns portal for brand consistency. It appears to target merchants looking to reduce the operational burden of handling returns and improving customer retention through a smooth returns process. Product Registration by Dyrect, on the other hand, is more likely focused on enabling product registration, possibly for warranty management or product lifecycle tracking, although the provided data is limited. The key differentiator lies in the scope. 8returns provides an end-to-end solution for managing returns, from initiating the return to processing refunds or exchanges. The automated label generation, customizable portal, and return analytics directly address the pain points associated with handling returns at scale. Product Registration by Dyrect, judging solely by the name, aims to gather information about product usage, potentially enabling better customer service and product development based on registration data. Therefore, they fulfill different, though potentially complementary, needs within the post-purchase customer journey.

Our Verdict
If you're struggling with managing returns, processing refunds, and creating return labels, 8returns is the clear choice. Its features are designed specifically to automate and optimize the entire returns process. The relatively large number of reviews also lends it some credibility.
If your business model relies on product registration, perhaps for warranty management or tracking product lifecycles, then Product Registration by Dyrect (or at least more information about it) would be more appropriate. However, based on the limited information available, it's hard to make a strong recommendation without knowing more about its functionality.
