99minds Gift Card & Loyalty vs Rise.ai: Gift Cards & Loyaltyfor Shopify (2026)
Both 99minds Gift Card & Loyalty and Rise.ai: Gift Cards & Loyalty are Shopify apps designed to enhance customer loyalty and drive sales through gift cards, loyalty programs, and store credit. 99minds positions itself as an omnichannel solution, emphasizing the integration of both physical and digital gift cards, loyalty programs with VIP tiers, memberships, and mobile wallet passes. This suggests a focus on a more comprehensive and integrated experience across multiple touchpoints. Rise.ai, on the other hand, is more explicitly focused on leveraging store credit as the central engine for both acquisition and retention, highlighting cashback campaigns and using store credit for refunds, rewards, and compensation. This positions Rise.ai as a streamlined solution centered around the power of store credit. While both apps share core functionality, they differ in their emphasis. 99minds appears to target merchants seeking a broader suite of features including memberships and wallet integration. Rise.ai seems geared towards merchants prioritizing efficient store credit management and maximizing its impact on AOV and repeat purchases. The significantly higher number of reviews for Rise.ai indicates broader adoption and potentially more user-generated feedback to inform implementation. 99minds, though with fewer reviews, boasts a slightly higher rating, potentially indicating a more polished or specialized experience for its user base.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a comprehensive, omnichannel loyalty solution with features like membership programs and mobile wallet integration, 99minds Gift Card & Loyalty is a strong contender, especially if its higher rating aligns with their needs. However, the limited number of reviews should be considered. On the other hand, if the primary goal is to leverage store credit for acquisition, retention, and specifically to boost AOV and reduce refund losses, Rise.ai: Gift Cards & Loyalty is likely the better choice, backed by significantly more user feedback and a clear focus on store credit optimization.
If ease of setup and a laser focus on store credit's revenue-generating potential are priorities, Rise.ai appears more suitable. For a business requiring broader loyalty capabilities and cross-channel functionality (including physical cards and mobile wallets), 99minds may be a better fit, provided they are comfortable with a smaller user base and fewer reviews.
