Our Verdict
For merchants selling digital goods, ABC Digital Downloads Products is the clear choice. Its features are specifically tailored to handle digital content delivery, protection, and streaming, directly addressing the unique challenges of selling digital products. The automated features are a big time saver.
However, for merchants selling physical products (or even digital) and relying heavily on PayPal for payments, Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync is the better option. While it may not directly impact sales, it streamlines the payment process, reduces the risk of payment holds, and improves the overall PayPal experience for both the merchant and the customer. The larger number of reviews suggests a more robust and reliable app.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the significantly higher number of reviews, Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync is likely more robust and easier to set up. While ABC Digital Downloads Products has a perfect rating, the low review count suggests it may not have been as extensively tested or used as Proveway.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, theoretically you could use both. ABC Digital Downloads Products would handle your digital content delivery, while Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync would handle PayPal tracking for those orders. However, if you don't sell digital downloads, ABC is irrelevant.
Does ABC Digital Downloads Products handle payment processing?
No, ABC Digital Downloads Products focuses on *delivery* of digital products after a payment is made through Shopify's standard payment gateways. It does not directly handle payment processing.
Is Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync only for PayPal?
Proveway also syncs Stripe tracking information. However, the headline and description emphasize PayPal optimization.
Which app offers a free trial?
The provided information doesn't mention if either app offers a free trial. Further research on the Shopify App Store would be needed to confirm this.
