Our Verdict
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the clear choice for merchants already selling or planning to sell internationally and who use Shopify Markets or Global-e. Its high rating and positive user reviews demonstrate its effectiveness in enhancing the global shopping experience.
AC Product Copy Generator is a riskier option due to the lack of reviews. However, it could be valuable for merchants struggling to create high-quality product descriptions at scale, particularly those entering multiple language markets. Merchants should carefully evaluate their needs and consider alternative, reviewed product description apps before committing to AC Product Copy Generator.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Without user reviews for AC Product Copy Generator, it's difficult to definitively say. Geolocation & Markets—Selecty likely requires more configuration to set up market rules and geolocation settings, but its existing user base may offer helpful guidance. AC Product Copy Generator may be simpler due to its focus on text generation and editing but the user interface could be clunky.
Which app is more focused on SEO?
AC Product Copy Generator explicitly mentions SEO-optimized product descriptions, suggesting a direct focus on improving search engine visibility through its copy. Geolocation & Markets—Selecty indirectly impacts SEO by improving user experience and potentially increasing conversion rates, which can signal value to search engines.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is probably not useful to a new store. It is designed to handle more complex market requirements. A brand new store probably doesn't need to worry about geolocation just yet. AC Product Copy Generator would be more helpful for populating a new store with product descriptions if resources are limited.
Which app is better for a merchant already using Shopify Markets?
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the clear winner here. Its description explicitly states that it boosts sales on Shopify Markets and Global-e Managed Markets. It seems almost required to fully take advantage of the Shopify Markets platform.
If I have a small catalog of products, do I need AC Product Copy Generator?
Probably not. AC Product Copy Generator seems geared towards users who need to generate hundreds of descriptions at scale. If you only have a few products, you should be able to write those descriptions yourself.
