AccessEz‑ Accessibility Widget vs AskAwayfor Shopify (2026)
AccessEz‑ Accessibility Widget and AskAway, while both listed under the 'Accessibility' category on Shopify, address vastly different needs and target distinct merchant segments. AccessEz focuses on enhancing website accessibility for users with disabilities, aiming to provide a more inclusive shopping experience and improve compliance with accessibility standards like ADA, AODA, and WCAG. AskAway, on the other hand, is an AI-powered chatbot designed to improve customer engagement through instant support, product recommendations, and automated inquiry management. Their shared classification may be misleading, as only AccessEz directly assists site accessibility for customers with disabilities. AskAway's focus is purely on driving sales via a chatbot.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to enhance their store's accessibility and ensure compliance with accessibility standards, AccessEz‑ Accessibility Widget is the clear choice. Its features directly address the needs of users with disabilities, providing a more inclusive and legally sound online shopping experience. The app also boasts a perfect rating and positive user feedback, suggesting it delivers on its promises. AskAway, while potentially valuable for improving customer engagement and sales, does not offer any accessibility features for users with disabilities, and has no user reviews to support its claims. Therefore, AskAway would be a better choice for merchants looking to improve customer service and sales.
Common Questions
Which app helps make my store ADA compliant?
AccessEz‑ Accessibility Widget is specifically designed to help merchants improve their store's accessibility and potentially move towards ADA and WCAG compliance. AskAway does not address ADA compliance at all.
Which app is better for improving customer service?
AskAway is specifically designed to handle customer inquiries and offer instant support through an AI-powered chatbot. AccessEz focuses on accessibility features, not direct customer service interaction.
Which app is easier to install and use?
Both apps claim to be easy to install. AskAway advertises itself as 'Seamless Integration - Just Install!'. AccessEz says 'Easy to configure and adaptable to your store’s unique needs'. Without user reviews for AskAway, it is hard to say which is easier to use, but both aim for simple setup.
Which app will directly impact my conversion rate?
AskAway aims to increase sales and customer satisfaction through personalized recommendations and instant support, which should in theory, boost conversion rates. AccessEz, by making the store more accessible, can help to retain customers who would otherwise leave due to accessibility issues, but its primary focus is not conversion rate optimization.
Does AskAway offer features for visually impaired customers?
Based on the provided information, AskAway does not offer any specific accessibility features for visually impaired customers. AccessEz would be the appropriate choice to implement these features.
