Account Blocks, Ui Extensions vs SplitOrderfor Shopify (2026)
Account Blocks, Ui Extensions and SplitOrder address different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Account Blocks focuses on enhancing the customer experience within the account, order, thank you, and checkout flows, offering features such as order notes, report a problem functionality, and dynamic content through UI extensions. It positions itself as a tool to improve customer communication and provide a more personalized post-purchase experience. SplitOrder, on the other hand, is geared towards optimizing order fulfillment workflows by automating the splitting of orders based on various criteria like item type, supplier, or warehouse location. The primary difference lies in their target audience and value proposition. Account Blocks is for merchants seeking to improve customer satisfaction and engagement within the order lifecycle. SplitOrder caters to merchants with complex fulfillment needs, particularly those dealing with multiple suppliers, warehouses, or items requiring special handling (e.g., oversized or personalized products). While both technically exist within the "Orders" category, their function and application differ significantly.
