AccountOne ‑ Ecommerce2Datev vs BreezyFile ‑ Sales Tax Filingsfor Shopify (2026)
AccountOne ‑ Ecommerce2Datev and BreezyFile ‑ Sales Tax Filings address distinct aspects of financial management for Shopify merchants. AccountOne focuses on simplifying accounting processes for German-speaking merchants by automating data transfer to DATEV, a popular accounting software used by German tax advisors. Its strength lies in its direct integration with DATEV and features like automated VAT assessment and order-payment matching, streamlining the bookkeeping workflow. Its target audience is clearly German-speaking Shopify stores working with German tax advisors using DATEV. BreezyFile, on the other hand, targets US-based Shopify stores needing help with US sales tax compliance. It automates sales tax filings and state registrations, ensuring merchants meet deadlines and avoid penalties. The core difference between the two apps lies in their geographical focus and specific function. AccountOne automates bookkeeping data transfer for German accounting standards, while BreezyFile manages sales tax obligations in the US. BreezyFile boasts a higher rating and significantly more reviews, suggesting greater user satisfaction and wider adoption, likely driven by the broader addressable market of US-based stores dealing with complex sales tax regulations. BreezyFile emphasizes ease of use through an admin dashboard, automated filings, and dedicated support, promising a stress-free experience for merchants navigating US sales tax complexities.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants operating in Germany and using DATEV accounting software with their tax advisors, AccountOne is the clear choice. Its specific DATEV integration and focus on German accounting standards offer a tailored solution to streamline bookkeeping. However, merchants based in the United States requiring assistance with sales tax filings and state registrations should opt for BreezyFile. Its automated features, focus on US regulations, higher rating, and ample user reviews make it a more reliable and comprehensive solution for US sales tax compliance.
While both apps address financial aspects of e-commerce, their target audiences and functionalities are distinct. BreezyFile appears to be the stronger choice overall due to its broader applicability, higher rating, and greater number of reviews, assuming a US-based merchant with US sales tax complexities, however, if the store is German, AccountOne is really the only choice of these two, despite it's lower rating. It's worth noting the low number of reviews for AccountOne - users may want to do additional research before installing to better understand potential issues.
