ACF: Metafields Custom Fields vs Webify Metafields Editorfor Shopify (2026)
ACF: Metafields Custom Fields and Webify Metafields Editor both address the need for robust metafield management on Shopify, allowing merchants to customize their stores beyond the standard fields. ACF focuses on providing a structured approach to page design via templates and offers granular control over various data types, while Webify emphasizes ease of use, comprehensive metafield coverage across different Shopify objects (products, customers, orders, etc.), and data protection features like backups and change logs. Webify also highlights its compatibility with Online Store 2.0 themes and spreadsheet-based bulk editing, making it appealing to merchants managing large catalogs. ACF seems positioned for merchants who need fine-grained control over data types and page structure creation through metafields, potentially those with specific design or data organization requirements. Its template functionality suggests a desire for repeatable design elements. Webify, on the other hand, aims for broader appeal, catering to merchants who prioritize ease of use and data integrity. Its compatibility with Online Store 2.0 and the presence of backup and change log features suggests a focus on operational reliability and store customization capabilities without extensive technical expertise.
