Addify ‑ Country Restrictions vs Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawerfor Shopify (2026)
Addify ‑ Country Restrictions and Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer, while both categorized under 'Checkout' in the Shopify app store, cater to drastically different needs. Addify focuses on geo-restriction, allowing merchants to control product visibility and availability based on customer location. This is crucial for businesses navigating varying product regulations, shipping limitations, or regional exclusivity. Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer, on the other hand, is geared towards maximizing revenue through optimized cart experiences, employing upsells, cross-sells, and various incentive mechanisms like free gifts and reward bars. The core difference lies in their objectives: Addify aims to prevent unwanted orders or legal complications stemming from international commerce, while Opus targets increased Average Order Value (AOV) and reduced cart abandonment. Addify's strength lies in its rule-based system for country-specific restrictions, while Opus excels in leveraging psychological triggers and gamification to encourage larger purchases. While both apps touch the checkout process, Addify is about restriction, and Opus is about enhancement.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants operating internationally or selling products with specific regional restrictions, Addify ‑ Country Restrictions is the clear choice. Its ability to hide products, prices, or add-to-cart buttons based on location addresses a critical need for compliance and inventory management. The focus on rule-based restrictions is essential for avoiding complications.
However, for the vast majority of e-commerce stores aiming to boost sales and improve the customer shopping experience, Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer offers a more compelling suite of features. The upsell capabilities, free gift incentives, and abandoned cart recovery tools directly contribute to increased AOV and conversions. While Addify solves a specific problem, Opus focuses on broader revenue generation, making it more generally applicable.
Common Questions
Can Addify help me increase my AOV?
Indirectly, yes. By preventing orders from countries where fulfillment is impossible, Addify focuses your resources on viable sales, potentially improving overall profitability. However, it does not directly implement upselling or cross-selling techniques to increase individual order values.
Can Opus help me comply with international regulations?
No, Opus does not offer features to restrict product visibility based on country regulations. It's focused on enhancing the cart experience and driving sales, not compliance.
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on their feature sets, Addify is likely easier to set up. Its core functionality of country-based restrictions is more straightforward than Opus's multiple upselling and incentive options, which require more configuration.
If I only want to offer free shipping to customers in certain countries, which app should I use?
Neither app directly manages free shipping by country. You would likely need to use a shipping app that allows for country-specific shipping rules, potentially in conjunction with either Addify or Opus.
Which app is better for a small store just starting out?
For a very small store, Opus might be more immediately beneficial. Focus on increasing AOV early can have a significant impact on revenue. However, if the store sells regulated products, Addify's compliance features become much more crucial.
