Addify Image Watermark vs AIBrush: Background Removerfor Shopify (2026)
Addify Image Watermark and AIBrush: Background Remover, while both categorized as image editors on Shopify, serve distinctly different purposes and cater to different needs of e-commerce merchants. Addify Image Watermark focuses on protecting intellectual property and maintaining brand consistency by allowing merchants to bulk watermark images with text and logos. It is positioned as a solution for artists, photographers, and retailers concerned about image misuse and brand representation. AIBrush: Background Remover, on the other hand, leverages AI to efficiently remove backgrounds from product images, aiming to enhance visual appeal and optimize product presentation. It's designed for a broader range of merchants looking to improve the aesthetic quality of their product listings, particularly those selling products where a clean, professional background is essential. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. Addify emphasizes protection and branding through watermarking, offering features like dynamic customization of watermark appearance and a rules log for management. Conversely, AIBrush prioritizes image refinement and presentation, focusing on one-click bulk background removal powered by AI with the ability to revert to original images if needed. This divergence highlights the choice between safeguarding intellectual property and enhancing product visuals, guiding merchants toward the app that aligns with their specific priorities. Both promote bulk editing capabilities, but the editing functionality is fundamentally different.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with protecting their product images from unauthorized use and maintaining brand consistency through visible watermarks, Addify Image Watermark is the more suitable choice. Its features cater specifically to preventing copyright infringement and ensuring proper attribution. However, due to the lack of reviews, merchants might be wary of adopting it.
On the other hand, if the primary goal is to enhance the visual appeal of product listings and present products in a clean, professional manner with appealing backgrounds, AIBrush: Background Remover is the better option. Its AI-powered background removal is designed to streamline the image editing process and create visually compelling product images, leading to increased customer engagement and sales. AIBrush also has better reviews and more users making it the better choice for most stores.
