Addify ‑ Quick Buy Now Button vs Essential Upsell & Cross Sellfor Shopify (2026)
Addify ‑ Quick Buy Now Button and Essential Upsell & Cross Sell cater to distinct needs within Shopify's cart customization category. Addify focuses on streamlining the purchasing process by offering 'buy now' button functionality, allowing merchants to redirect customers to the cart, checkout, or even external marketplaces like Amazon or eBay. Its value proposition lies in simplifying the path to purchase and offering external sales channels. Essential Upsell & Cross Sell, on the other hand, aims to increase Average Order Value (AOV) by implementing upsell and cross-sell strategies throughout the customer journey, including product pages, the cart drawer, and even post-purchase. The primary difference lies in their objectives: Addify prioritizes purchase speed and external linking capabilities, while Essential Upsell & Cross Sell centers around boosting AOV through suggestive selling and product bundling. Addify targets merchants who want to expedite sales or drive traffic to external marketplaces, whereas Essential Upsell & Cross Sell suits merchants seeking to maximize revenue per customer by encouraging them to buy more related or complementary items.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing quick purchases, streamlined checkout, or directing customers to external marketplaces, Addify ‑ Quick Buy Now Button *could* be considered, but the extremely low rating and lack of reviews raise significant concerns. The app would require thorough testing and validation before committing to it.
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the stronger choice for merchants seeking to increase AOV through targeted upsell and cross-sell strategies. The app's stellar rating and substantial number of reviews strongly suggest that it delivers on its promise of boosting sales by recommending related or complementary products. Given the performance disparity, Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the recommended choice for most Shopify merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell could improve conversion rates by presenting related products that customers are more likely to purchase. However, Addify aims to reduce cart abandonment by enabling fast checkout, which could also influence conversion rates, but its low reviews are concerning.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but it might create a confusing user experience. Consider the overall flow of your store and how the 'buy now' button and upsell/cross-sell recommendations interact. Prioritize one strategy and ensure it aligns with your broader business goals.
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on feature sets, Addify might be easier to set up initially. However, ease of use is also influenced by user interface and documentation, which aren't provided here. It's impossible to definitively say without firsthand experience.
Does Addify offer any features to increase AOV?
Addify's primary focus is on speeding up the purchase process, not necessarily increasing AOV. While a faster checkout may lead to more sales overall, it does not directly promote suggestive selling or product bundling like Essential Upsell & Cross Sell.
What are the risks of using Addify given the low rating and few reviews?
The risks include potential app instability, poor customer support, or the app not functioning as advertised. Thorough testing is crucial before relying on Addify for your business.
