Address Validator AddressHero vs Postly: Click and Drop Syncfor Shopify (2026)
Address Validator AddressHero and Postly: Click and Drop Sync, while both categorized under 'Shipping' on Shopify, address very different needs within the e-commerce fulfillment process. AddressHero focuses on improving address accuracy during the checkout process, aiming to reduce misdeliveries and associated costs. It positions itself as a tool for enhancing customer satisfaction and increasing profits by minimizing shipping errors. Its strength lies in its compatibility with various Shopify plans and express checkouts, alongside its automated address validation features. On the other hand, Postly: Click and Drop Sync streamlines the post-checkout shipping workflow for merchants using Royal Mail's Click & Drop service. Its core value proposition is automating the synchronization of order details and tracking information between a Shopify store and Click & Drop, saving time and effort in label printing and shipment management. The primary difference between the two apps lies in their scope. AddressHero operates primarily at the point of sale to prevent incorrect address information, while Postly focuses on automating the backend shipping process with Royal Mail. AddressHero would appeal to a wider range of merchants concerned about address inaccuracies regardless of their chosen shipping provider. Postly, however, specifically caters to businesses that rely on Royal Mail's Click & Drop service for their shipping needs. The higher number of reviews for AddressHero suggests a broader user base or longer presence on the Shopify app store.

Our Verdict
If your priority is to minimize shipping errors and improve customer satisfaction by ensuring accurate addresses from the start, Address Validator AddressHero is the more suitable choice. Its ability to automatically detect and correct address errors, combined with its compatibility with various checkouts and Shopify plans, makes it a valuable asset for any e-commerce business concerned about address-related issues.
However, if you primarily use Royal Mail's Click & Drop service and seek to streamline your shipping workflow by automating order synchronization and tracking updates, then Postly: Click and Drop Sync is the clear winner. It saves valuable time and effort by eliminating manual data entry and ensuring that your Shopify store is always up-to-date with the latest shipping information from Royal Mail.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps advertise an easy setup process. AddressHero mentions theme compatibility and automatic detection, suggesting minimal configuration. Postly claims a setup of 'just a few clicks', pointing to a simple integration process. It's difficult to determine definitively without user testing.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, the apps address different stages of the shipping process. AddressHero ensures correct address data, which is then used by Postly to sync order details with Royal Mail Click & Drop.
Which app is more cost-effective?
The descriptions do not provide pricing information for either app. The cost-effectiveness depends on individual needs and shipping volume. A business with high misdelivery rates will likely benefit more from the savings offered by AddressHero, while a business with high Royal Mail Click & Drop volume will find Postly more cost-effective.
Does AddressHero guarantee 100% accurate addresses?
While AddressHero aims to significantly reduce address errors, it likely cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. The app description focuses on detecting and correcting errors but does not explicitly promise complete error elimination.
What happens if Royal Mail changes its Click & Drop API? Will Postly still work?
Postly, being an unofficial integration, relies on Royal Mail's Click & Drop API. If Royal Mail significantly changes its API, Postly may require updates to maintain functionality. Merchants should consider this dependency when evaluating Postly.
