Addresyo Lock vs GDPR ‑ Customer Accountsfor Shopify (2026)
Addresyo Lock and GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts, while sharing the 'Customer Loyalty' category, serve drastically different purposes. Addresyo Lock focuses on maintaining data integrity regarding customer address information within Shopify by preventing accidental or unwanted updates to the customer's default address during order placement. It's designed for merchants who prioritize consistent address data for billing and shipping, ensuring that the billing address remains the default. GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts, despite lacking a detailed description, implies functionality related to GDPR compliance and customer account management. The key difference lies in their primary function. Addresyo Lock directly manipulates the Shopify customer data structure to enforce a specific address management rule, whereas GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts likely provides tools for managing customer data privacy and consent in alignment with GDPR regulations. Given the limited data on GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts, it's difficult to fully assess its feature set. However, its categorization suggests features related to customer data requests, consent management, and data deletion, which are areas Addresyo Lock doesn't address at all. Both apps boast a perfect rating of 5/5. However, Addresyo Lock has received feedback from 3 customers, while GDPR - Customer Accounts has only 1 customer review. This difference in review count might be indicative of Addresyo Lock being more established or targeting a more common pain point for Shopify merchants.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Addresyo Lock and GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts depends entirely on the merchant's needs. If consistent billing addresses are crucial to the business and prevent operational issues, Addresyo Lock is the clear choice. Its integration with Shopify Flow suggests ease of use. However, if GDPR compliance and customer data privacy are the primary concerns, then GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts is the more suitable option, despite the limited information available about its features.
Given the critical importance of GDPR compliance for businesses operating in certain regions or serving customers in those regions, GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts is likely essential for merchants who require those capabilities. Addresyo Lock addresses a specific operational need, whereas GDPR ‑ Customer Accounts potentially addresses a legal requirement. For merchants unsure if they need the latter, consulting with a legal expert specializing in GDPR is recommended.
