Addresyo Lock vs PasswordFree Authenticator Appfor Shopify (2026)
Addresyo Lock and PasswordFree Authenticator App, despite sharing the 'Customer Loyalty' category, serve drastically different purposes. Addresyo Lock focuses on back-end order processing and data consistency, ensuring a customer's default address remains their billing address even if they change their shipping address during checkout. It aims to streamline internal operations and prevent address-related errors by overriding Shopify's default behavior. PasswordFree Authenticator App, on the other hand, is customer-facing, concentrating on enhancing the login and registration experience through passwordless authentication, two-factor authentication (2FA), and OTP (One-Time Pictures). It targets merchants looking to improve security, reduce account fraud, and streamline the customer journey during login and checkout. Addresyo Lock's strength lies in its simplicity and targeted functionality. It directly addresses a specific pain point related to address management within Shopify's order processing. PasswordFree Authenticator App offers a suite of authentication features, promising a more secure and user-friendly login experience. However, the lack of reviews and zero rating raise concerns about its reliability and actual performance, compared to Addresyo Lock's perfect rating, though based on a small sample size. The shared category stems from the premise that both address consistency (Addresyo Lock) and secure authentication (PasswordFree) indirectly contribute to a better customer experience, fostering loyalty through smooth and reliable interactions.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with address discrepancies and seeking a simple solution to maintain billing address consistency, Addresyo Lock is the clear choice, especially given its positive (albeit limited) reviews. It integrates seamlessly with Shopify Flow, making it easy to implement. PasswordFree Authenticator App, while promising advanced authentication features, is a riskier proposition due to the lack of reviews and a zero rating. Merchants prioritizing enhanced security and a modern login experience might be tempted, but thorough due diligence and ideally a trial period are essential before committing. If prioritizing a proven and simple solution, Addresyo Lock is recommended. For merchants that need to address account fraud, passwordless login and are confident in their tech implementation PasswordFree Authenticator App may be the better option, but should proceed with caution and test extensively.
