Admin+ vs Metafields Gurufor Shopify (2026)
Admin+ and Metafields Guru both cater to Shopify merchants seeking to enhance their stores through custom data and content, but they approach this goal from different angles and with distinct focuses. Admin+ emphasizes extending the functionality of the Shopify Admin and POS systems, allowing merchants to create custom pages and forms directly within these interfaces. This focus makes it ideal for merchants needing to streamline internal workflows, capture specific data at the point of sale, or build customized data entry forms for products. Metafields Guru, on the other hand, positions itself as the premier tool for managing and displaying metafields on the storefront to create a unique customer experience. While Admin+ provides tools for *capturing* metafield data within the admin and POS, Metafields Guru is centered around *displaying* and managing those metafields for enhanced storefront presentation, data migration, and bulk editing. The high review count and perfect rating suggest strong user satisfaction with Metafields Guru's core functionalities. The difference is, one is focused on admin/POS data capture/entry (Admin+), the other on display and bulk management of metafields (Metafields Guru).

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on extending the capabilities of their Shopify Admin and POS systems with custom forms, data capture, and specialized workflows, Admin+ is the better choice. The ability to create custom pages and forms within these interfaces is a key differentiator. However, be aware that the limited number of reviews might indicate a newer app or a smaller user base.
If the primary need is to efficiently manage existing metafield data, display it effectively on the storefront, and migrate data between stores, then Metafields Guru is the clear winner. Its strong rating, high review count, and focus on bulk editing, export/import, and storefront presentation make it the more robust solution for this particular use case. While Admin+ can handle metafields, Metafields Guru offers a dedicated and arguably more user-friendly experience for overall metafield management.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for beginners?
Metafields Guru likely offers a gentler learning curve due to its 'intuitive UI and Excel-like editor.' Admin+ may require some Liquid/HTML knowledge for advanced customization.
Can both apps help me display metafields on my storefront?
Metafields Guru is specifically designed to display metafields on the storefront 'without coding and hassle.' Admin+ could indirectly achieve this, but it would require more custom development.
Which app is better for collecting customer data at the POS?
Admin+ excels at collecting data at the POS through custom forms and logic. Metafields Guru does not directly offer POS data collection features.
If I want to migrate metafields from one Shopify store to another, which app is suitable?
Metafields Guru explicitly supports exporting and importing metafields via CSV, making it suitable for data migration. Admin+ does not mention this capability.
Does Admin+ have pre-built templates I can use to create forms?
Yes, Admin+ includes a 'template wizard' to help users quickly create common use cases. Metafields Guru does not appear to have this feature.
