Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking extensive control over their shipping strategy, including real-time carrier rates, advanced rules based on product attributes and location, and multi-origin shipping capabilities, Advanced Shipping Rate Manager is the clear choice. Its robust feature set and dedicated support make it suitable for businesses with complex shipping needs. However, if a merchant primarily ships within the specific countries supported by InPost and wants to offer their customers the convenience of parcel locker or pickup point delivery without complex setup or theme modifications, InPost – Tale Commerce is the more appropriate solution. It provides a streamlined integration with InPost's infrastructure, making it ideal for businesses focused on simplicity and customer convenience within the InPost ecosystem.
Common Questions
Which app is better for international shipping?
Advanced Shipping Rate Manager is better suited for international shipping due to its ability to connect with leading parcel and LTL couriers globally, and manage multi-origin shipping. InPost – Tale Commerce is limited to InPost services within specific European countries.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Technically, you *could* use both apps if Carrier Calculated Shipping is already enabled. However, Advanced Shipping Rate Manager is designed to handle comprehensive shipping rules, so you'd primarily use that, and InPost would only apply if the customer specifically chooses an InPost delivery location. This may introduce unnecessary complexity and potential rate discrepancies, and would not make sense for most merchants.
Which app is easier to set up?
InPost – Tale Commerce is significantly easier to set up, requiring no coding knowledge and promising a quick installation process. Advanced Shipping Rate Manager, with its advanced features and customization options, likely requires more configuration and understanding of shipping rules.
Which app is more resilient during carrier outages?
InPost - Tale Commerce is explicitly stated to be resistant to failures and interruptions from InPost itself, while Advanced Shipping Rate Manager relies on the real-time connections to other carriers, and may be affected by those carriers' downtimes.
Which app offers support for LTL shipping?
Advanced Shipping Rate Manager explicitly supports LTL (Less Than Truckload) couriers. InPost – Tale Commerce focuses solely on parcel locker and pickup point delivery, which generally excludes LTL shipments.
