AE: Order Editing & Upsell vs B2B Order Agentfor Shopify (2026)
AE: Order Editing & Upsell and B2B Order Agent both fall under the 'Order editing' category on Shopify, but cater to vastly different needs and merchant types. AE: Order Editing & Upsell focuses on empowering customers with self-service order editing capabilities, aiming to reduce cancellations and improve the post-purchase experience for standard (B2C or mixed) Shopify stores. It achieves this by providing tools for customers to modify their orders, validate shipping addresses, and receive post-purchase upsells. The app also features integrations with Shopify Flow and 3PL providers for streamlined automation. B2B Order Agent, on the other hand, is designed specifically for B2B or wholesale merchants. It allows sales representatives and staff to impersonate customers on the storefront and place orders on their behalf. The app is deeply integrated with Shopify's B2B functionalities (Companies, Customers & Checkout) and ensures that sales reps see the same customer-specific pricing, catalog visibility, and volume discounts as the customer would, offering an on-brand, guided B2B ordering experience. It also provides controls over which customers an impersonator can access and order approval workflows.

Our Verdict
For standard B2C or mixed Shopify stores seeking to enhance their post-purchase experience, reduce cancellations, and increase average order value, AE: Order Editing & Upsell is the clear choice. Its customer self-service features and integrations with Shopify Flow make it a robust solution for improving customer satisfaction and streamlining order management.
Conversely, B2B Order Agent is specifically designed for B2B or wholesale businesses. If your business relies on sales representatives placing orders on behalf of customers and requires customer-specific pricing and catalog visibility, B2B Order Agent provides the necessary tools. The app's integration with Shopify's B2B functionalities makes it the ideal solution for streamlining your B2B ordering process. However, the lack of reviews makes it hard to ascertain product quality. Merchants should proceed with caution and perform extensive testing during any trial period.
