AE: Order Editing & Upsell vs ClientGo – Order Assignfor Shopify (2026)
AE: Order Editing & Upsell focuses on empowering customers with self-service order editing capabilities, reducing support tickets and boosting AOV through post-purchase upsells. Its strength lies in offering a comprehensive post-purchase experience management solution. It is tailored for merchants who want to reduce customer support load, decrease cancellations, and proactively increase order value. ClientGo – Order Assign, on the other hand, concentrates solely on assigning customer information directly within the order editing screen, primarily targeted at merchants needing a basic CRM-like functionality directly within Shopify orders. It aims to streamline customer data association with orders. It offers a simplistic approach to customer data entry and assignment within the order details page. The primary difference is the scope of functionality. AE offers a broad suite of features focused on the post-purchase experience, including order editing, address validation, cancellation management, upsells, and automation through Shopify Flow and 3PL integrations. ClientGo is a much more focused application that only allows merchants to input and assign basic customer data to an order. AE is designed for established businesses with significant order volumes looking to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction, while ClientGo caters to smaller businesses or those manually managing order and customer relationships, potentially lacking a full CRM.

Our Verdict
For established Shopify stores seeking to significantly improve the post-purchase customer experience, reduce support tickets, and increase average order value through self-service order editing and upsells, AE: Order Editing & Upsell is the clear choice. Its integration capabilities and comprehensive feature set cater to merchants focused on scaling operations and optimizing customer satisfaction. ClientGo – Order Assign serves a niche need for smaller businesses that require a simple way to record basic customer data against an order, especially if they don't have a dedicated CRM system. However, its lack of reviews and limited feature set makes it a less reliable option compared to AE, especially considering the overwhelmingly positive reviews and established functionality of AE.
