AE: Order Editing & Upsell vs Trackr: Order Tracking Appfor Shopify (2026)
AE: Order Editing & Upsell and Trackr: Order Tracking App both address the post-purchase experience for Shopify merchants, but tackle fundamentally different aspects. AE focuses on empowering customers to self-manage their orders, reducing cancellations and support tickets by allowing edits directly on the order status page. It also aims to increase revenue through post-purchase upsells. Trackr, conversely, centers on providing transparency and reassurance to customers regarding their order's shipping status, supporting a vast network of carriers and offering branded tracking pages to enhance the customer experience. The core difference lies in control. AE prioritizes giving control to the *customer* to modify their orders, while Trackr gives control to the *merchant* to provide real-time shipping information. Therefore, AE is better positioned for merchants looking to decrease order cancellations and increase AOV through post-purchase actions, while Trackr is aimed at merchants dealing with high volumes of shipping inquiries and who want to build trust through a branded tracking experience, especially those engaged in dropshipping due to its 'hide Chinese origin' feature.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to minimize order cancellations, empower customers with self-service options, and increase average order value through post-purchase upsells, AE: Order Editing & Upsell is the better choice. Its focus on order management and AOV makes it ideal for merchants experiencing order errors or looking to maximize revenue.
However, if your primary concern is providing a seamless post-purchase shipping experience, reducing WISMO (Where Is My Order) inquiries, and building trust through transparent tracking information, especially if you deal with international shipping or dropshipping, Trackr: Order Tracking App is the superior option. Its broad carrier support and branded tracking capabilities offer significant benefits.
Common Questions
Which app is better for dropshipping?
Trackr is generally better for dropshipping due to its feature to hide the Chinese origin of the package, providing a smoother experience for customers. AE doesn't directly address dropshipping specific needs.
Which app is easier to use?
This is subjective, but both apps claim ease of use. AE's advantage might be in the simplicity of allowing customers to edit directly. Trackr's might require some setup to brand the tracking page. Without user testing, it's difficult to definitively say which is easier.
Which app will have a greater impact on customer satisfaction?
Both apps aim to improve customer satisfaction but in different ways. AE will satisfy customers who need to make changes to their orders. Trackr will satisfy customers who are anxious about their package's location and delivery time.
Does AE integrate with shipping carriers?
AE does not directly integrate with shipping carriers. It integrates with Shopify Flow and 3PL, which *may* involve shipping carriers depending on the 3PL integration. Trackr directly integrates with 2100+ carriers.
Which app is more likely to increase revenue?
AE is specifically designed to increase revenue through post-purchase upsells. While Trackr may indirectly improve customer loyalty and repeat purchases, it doesn't have a direct revenue-generating feature like upsells.
