Affiliate Marketing ReferrLy vs gen.video: Influencer (Bounty)for Shopify (2026)
Affiliate Marketing ReferrLy and gen.video: Influencer (Bounty) both aim to boost sales through external promoters, but they approach affiliate marketing from different angles and target different merchant needs. ReferrLy positions itself as an all-in-one affiliate and referral marketing solution, focusing on empowering ambassadors and influencers through traditional affiliate programs. It emphasizes ease of onboarding, commission structures, and performance tracking. Gen.video, on the other hand, focuses on user-generated content (UGC) and influencer recruitment, emphasizing TikTok and Instagram, and automating product gifting and ad usage rights, including sparking TikTok videos. It positions itself as a creator marketing platform that includes affiliate functionality as a smaller subset of features. ReferrLy's primary strength lies in building and managing structured affiliate programs, while gen.video excels at leveraging user-generated content and incentivizing social media posts. ReferrLy is geared toward businesses seeking a comprehensive affiliate program with granular control, while gen.video is more suitable for businesses prioritizing social media engagement, UGC campaigns, and influencer collaborations, with a strong focus on video content. Gen.video is also restricted to US/Canada creators. The significant difference in reviews also hints at a difference in maturity and user base. Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's priorities: a dedicated, easily manageable affiliate program (ReferrLy) or a broad influencer marketing platform with UGC features (gen.video).

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a straightforward and comprehensive affiliate program with robust commission controls, Affiliate Marketing ReferrLy is the clear choice. Its high rating and large number of reviews suggest a well-received and mature product. Conversely, gen.video: Influencer (Bounty) is better suited for brands heavily invested in social media marketing, particularly TikTok and Instagram, who want to leverage user-generated content and streamline influencer collaborations. However, its limited creator location support and lower rating/review count should be considered.
If you need a robust, traditional affiliate program focused on website sales and referral links with customizable commissions, ReferrLy is the better option. If your priority is activating existing customers for video based social sharing, product sampling and sourcing UGC, and are focused on US/Canadian creators, then gen.video may be a better fit, keeping in mind its nascent review count.
