AfterCart Shipping Protection vs PostCo Returns & Exchangesfor Shopify (2026)
AfterCart Shipping Protection and PostCo Returns & Exchanges both operate within the "Returns and warranty" category on Shopify, but address different aspects of post-purchase customer experience. AfterCart focuses specifically on shipping protection, providing flexible options for merchants to offer coverage against loss, damage, or theft. Its strength lies in its customizable approach, allowing merchants to choose between customer opt-in, merchant-funded coverage, or a hybrid model. This targets merchants who want granular control over their shipping protection strategy and want to mitigate losses related to shipping issues. PostCo Returns & Exchanges, on the other hand, likely (based on its name and category) focuses on streamlining the returns and exchanges process for customers. Given its perfect 5/5 rating and 79 reviews, it seems to be a well-established and user-friendly solution. The app likely simplifies return requests, facilitates exchange options, and potentially automates aspects of return shipping and inventory management. This would be more suited to merchants who need a robust returns and exchanges system, prioritizing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency in handling returned goods. Crucially, AfterCart currently has no reviews, indicating it's new, untested, or significantly less popular than PostCo. This presents a risk, as merchants lack social proof regarding its effectiveness and reliability.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a proven and well-regarded solution for managing returns and exchanges, PostCo Returns & Exchanges is the clear winner. Its high rating and numerous reviews suggest a reliable and user-friendly experience. However, it doesn't offer shipping protection.
If a merchant specifically needs a flexible shipping protection solution and is willing to take a risk on a new app, AfterCart Shipping Protection might be worth exploring *if* the merchant is comfortable being an early adopter. However, the lack of reviews is a major red flag. Ultimately, given that one has no reviews and the other has a perfect rating with many reviews, PostCo is the safer choice for most merchants, assuming they prioritize returns and exchanges.
