Afterparty Checkout Upsells vs BLOY Rewards Program & Loyaltyfor Shopify (2026)
Afterparty Checkout Upsells and BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty, while both touching on customer loyalty within the Shopify ecosystem, target very different strategies for achieving that loyalty and increasing revenue. Afterparty focuses on maximizing the value of individual transactions through strategic upsells at the checkout and thank you page stages, aiming to boost average order value. BLOY, on the other hand, takes a long-term approach by building a comprehensive loyalty program with points, rewards, and VIP tiers to encourage repeat purchases and customer retention. Afterparty seems designed for merchants looking for immediate gains in revenue without the complexity of managing a full-fledged loyalty program. It's about optimizing the current customer's purchase journey. BLOY is aimed at merchants who are prepared to invest in a more sophisticated system to cultivate long-term customer relationships and brand loyalty, potentially leading to a more sustainable business model. The vast difference in review count suggests BLOY has a significantly larger user base and a longer track record, which provides more confidence in its reliability and effectiveness, despite Afterparty having a perfect but limited rating.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a quick and easy way to increase their average order value without significant upfront investment or ongoing management, Afterparty Checkout Upsells might be a good starting point. However, the extremely low number of reviews makes it difficult to assess its long-term reliability. If a merchant's goal is to build a robust and sustainable customer loyalty program, increase customer retention, and foster long-term relationships, BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty is the clear choice, given its established user base and comprehensive feature set. The 24/7 support is also a major plus for managing a potentially complex loyalty program.
While both apps touch on "customer loyalty," BLOY directly addresses it through a structured loyalty program. Afterparty only indirectly fosters loyalty by hopefully providing relevant upsells that improve the customer experience. The choice hinges on whether a merchant wants a tactical boost or a strategic program.
Common Questions
What kind of immediate impact can I expect from each app?
Afterparty promises an immediate increase in AOV through checkout upsells. BLOY requires time to build a customer base within the loyalty program before significant returns are seen.
How much time will each app take to set up and manage?
Afterparty, focusing on specific checkout elements, is likely faster to set up and requires less ongoing management. BLOY, being a full loyalty program, will require more time for initial setup, design, and ongoing management of rewards and VIP tiers.
Which app is more suitable for a small business with limited resources?
Afterparty might be more suitable initially for small businesses due to its simpler functionality and potentially lower time commitment. However, BLOY's 24/7 support could offset complexity if the business is committed to loyalty programs.
Can these apps be used together?
Potentially, yes. A merchant could use Afterparty to increase AOV on initial purchases and then leverage BLOY to encourage repeat purchases and build long-term loyalty. However, care should be taken to avoid overwhelming the customer with too many offers at once.
How important is the difference in review count between the two apps?
The significant difference in review count is important. BLOY's large number of reviews provides more confidence in its stability, reliability, and overall effectiveness. Afterparty's single review, while positive, offers very limited insights into the app's long-term performance and potential issues.
