Aftersell Post Purchase Upsell vs MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Orderfor Shopify (2026)
Aftersell Post Purchase Upsell and MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order, while both falling under the 'Checkout' category on Shopify, serve vastly different purposes. Aftersell focuses on increasing revenue *after* the initial purchase by offering upsells and cross-sells. Its strength lies in maximizing order value through targeted product suggestions presented during the checkout process but after the payment has been processed. This benefits merchants aiming to boost average order value (AOV) and overall sales. MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order, on the other hand, caters to businesses that need to allow customers to easily purchase multiple variations (variants) of a product in bulk. Its core function is to streamline the bulk ordering process, making it more convenient for customers to select and add numerous product variants to their cart. This appeals to merchants selling products with many variations (e.g., clothing in different sizes and colors) and those targeting wholesale or business customers who frequently purchase in large quantities. The higher rating for MultiVariants suggest a more streamlined bulk-ordering experience. The key differentiator is their placement in the customer journey and core function: Aftersell aims to optimize post-purchase revenue, while MultiVariants simplifies bulk variant selection before the purchase is even finalized.
