Our Verdict
Choosing between AfterShip Order Tracking and BIG Digital Downloads Products hinges entirely on the products you sell. If you sell physical goods, AfterShip Order Tracking is the clear choice. Its robust tracking features and AI powered delivery estimates will lead to smoother order experiences for customers. Its robust reporting features will also enable the merchant to better understand customer behaviors and bottlenecks in fulfillment processes.
For merchants selling digital downloads, BIG Digital Downloads Products is the obvious choice. Its focus on secure file delivery, license key management, and download restrictions are vital for protecting digital assets and managing sales effectively. You would not need AfterShip as you don't have anything to track. While AfterShip excels at providing order visibility for physical goods, it lacks the features necessary for effectively managing and delivering digital products.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
BIG Digital Downloads Products is likely easier to set up for merchants already familiar with uploading files. AfterShip involves integrating with carriers, which is a more complex process.
Which app offers a free plan?
Based on typical app pricing models, BIG Digital Downloads Products is more likely to offer a usable free plan as its resource demands are lower. AfterShip might have a free plan with limited tracking capabilities.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but it would be unusual. AfterShip provides value after an order is placed, while BIG Digital Downloads Products provides value at the moment of the sale. If you sell both physical and digital products you might consider having both, but it depends on your volume of physical vs digital goods.
Which app has better customer support?
AfterShip explicitly mentions 24/7 chat and email support. BIG Digital Downloads Products does not specify its support availability in the description. Both mention 1-click uploads/downloads, so that may imply ease of support if there's ease of use.
Which app is better for reducing customer service inquiries?
AfterShip is directly designed to reduce 'where is my order' (WISMO) inquiries by providing automated tracking updates. BIG Digital Downloads Products reduces inquiries related to how to access files.
