AfterShip Order Tracking vs DHL Express (Official)for Shopify (2026)
AfterShip Order Tracking and DHL Express (Official) cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify shipping ecosystem. AfterShip is primarily focused on post-purchase order tracking, enhancing customer satisfaction, and reducing WISMO inquiries. It aggregates data from 1100+ carriers, provides branded tracking pages, and offers AI-powered estimated delivery dates. DHL Express (Official), on the other hand, focuses on streamlining international shipping specifically through DHL's services. It caters to merchants already using or intending to use DHL Express for their international shipments by providing automated workflows, label printing, and customs clearance assistance. AfterShip offers a broad, platform-agnostic tracking solution with extensive carrier support, making it suitable for merchants using various shipping providers. Its strength lies in improving the post-purchase experience and providing valuable shipping analytics. DHL Express is tightly integrated with DHL's services, simplifying international shipping for merchants already invested in the DHL ecosystem. Its value proposition centers on automation and efficiency for DHL shipments, particularly in international contexts. A key difference is the scope: AfterShip is a tracking and customer service tool applicable regardless of the carrier, while DHL Express is specifically a shipping management tool for DHL shipments.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a comprehensive order tracking solution that integrates with multiple carriers and enhances the post-purchase experience, AfterShip Order Tracking is the superior choice. Its higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews suggest greater user satisfaction and broader applicability. Its AI EDD feature is a significant advantage.
However, for merchants exclusively using DHL Express for international shipping and prioritizing streamlined workflows and paperless customs clearance with DHL, the DHL Express (Official) app is a better fit. While its rating and review count are lower, its focus on DHL-specific functionalities makes it a specialized tool for a specific need.
