AfterShip Order Tracking vs EasyRoutes Local Deliveryfor Shopify (2026)
AfterShip Order Tracking and EasyRoutes Local Delivery, while both categorized under 'Shipping' in the Shopify app store, cater to distinctly different needs within the fulfillment process. AfterShip focuses on providing a comprehensive post-purchase experience by tracking shipments from a vast network of over 1100 carriers globally. It aims to reduce customer anxiety and WISMO (Where Is My Order?) inquiries by offering branded tracking pages, automated notifications, and AI-powered delivery estimates. Its strength lies in providing visibility and control over the entire shipment process, regardless of the carrier used. EasyRoutes Local Delivery, on the other hand, specializes in optimizing local delivery operations for merchants who manage their own delivery fleets or partner with local delivery services. It provides route optimization, driver dispatching and tracking, and customer notifications specifically tailored for local delivery scenarios. The app focuses on streamlining the local delivery process, reducing delivery costs, and improving the customer experience for orders fulfilled locally. Choosing between these two depends heavily on a merchant's shipping strategy: global shipment tracking vs. optimized local delivery.

Our Verdict
For merchants shipping orders globally using a variety of carriers, AfterShip Order Tracking is the clear choice. Its extensive carrier support, branded tracking pages, and AI-powered EDD provide a superior post-purchase experience and reduce customer anxiety related to shipping. However, if a merchant primarily focuses on local deliveries, either with their own fleet or a local delivery partner, EasyRoutes Local Delivery is the more appropriate option. Its route optimization, driver management, and proof-of-delivery features streamline the local delivery process and improve efficiency. While AfterShip offers broader tracking capabilities, EasyRoutes excels in the specific context of local delivery optimization.
Common Questions
Which app is better for reducing 'Where Is My Order?' inquiries?
AfterShip Order Tracking is likely better at reducing WISMO inquiries for globally shipped orders, thanks to its proactive notifications, branded tracking pages, and vast carrier support. However, EasyRoutes also tackles this problem by keeping customers up to date on local deliveries.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but it would depend on the merchant's strategy. If a merchant ships both globally and locally, they *could* use both, but might find the overlap in basic order tracking redundant. If nearly all orders are handled with a merchant's local fleet, Aftership would likely add little to EasyRoute's local shipping capabilities.
Which app is more suitable for businesses of all sizes?
AfterShip's focus on broader, multi-carrier tracking probably makes it more scalable across all business sizes. It would likely prove useful regardless of the size and order volume of your global shipping operation. EasyRoutes, while useful for small businesses doing local deliveries, becomes increasingly vital as the volume of local deliveries and fleet management become bigger, due to its optimization and dispatch capabilities.
Which app focuses more on post-purchase experience?
AfterShip Order Tracking is heavily focused on enhancing the post-purchase experience with branded tracking pages, personalized product recommendations, and proactive communication to keep customers informed about their shipment's status. EasyRoute focuses on optimizing the actual delivery process.
Which app is better for managing delivery drivers?
EasyRoutes Local Delivery includes a dedicated delivery driver app for dispatching, tracking, and optimizing routes, as well as features like proof of delivery. AfterShip Order Tracking does not include driver management features; it focuses solely on tracking shipments once they are dispatched by carriers.
