Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily concerned with age verification for specific products like alcohol or vaping supplies, Age Check Age Verification Ace appears to be a more suitable option. Its dedicated focus on age-gating with customizable popup options makes it well-suited for this specific need. The positive rating and existing reviews suggest a degree of reliability. However, the lack of recording and timestamping of the verification is a limitation.
If a merchant requires a broader solution for obtaining consent to terms and conditions, shipping policies, or other legal agreements, DIY Terms & Conditions is the better choice. While it lacks reviews, its ability to record and timestamp consent adds a layer of legal protection not offered by Age Check Age Verification Ace. The flexibility to place the checkbox on cart or product pages and customize alert messages further enhances its appeal for comprehensive policy enforcement. The lack of reviews, however, is a risk factor.
