Age Guard: Age Verification vs CheckboxAssistant: Agree Termsfor Shopify (2026)
Age Guard: Age Verification and CheckboxAssistant: Agree Terms both address legal compliance needs on Shopify, but cater to distinct requirements. Age Guard focuses explicitly on age verification, utilizing a customizable popup to restrict access based on age. Its target audience is merchants selling age-restricted products like alcohol, tobacco, or adult content. Conversely, CheckboxAssistant centers on obtaining user consent to terms and conditions, agreements, or policies through a simple checkbox interface. Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants needing to verify the age of their customers before granting site access due to the sale of age-restricted goods, Age Guard: Age Verification is the more relevant option, despite its lack of ratings or reviews. The customizable popup and focus on compliance make it suitable for this specific need. However, the absence of reviews in 2026 is a significant drawback. CheckboxAssistant: Agree Terms, with its perfect rating and numerous reviews, is the better choice for merchants needing to ensure customers agree to terms and conditions or policies before completing a transaction. Given the strong positive feedback, it demonstrates proven reliability and user satisfaction in fulfilling this distinct legal requirement.
