AgeCheck 18+: Age verification vs Omnibus Insight: Price Historyfor Shopify (2026)
AgeCheck 18+: Age verification and Omnibus Insight: Price History are both Shopify apps in the 'Legal' category, but they serve entirely different purposes. AgeCheck 18+ aims to verify the age of customers, presumably to restrict access to age-restricted products. However, it currently lacks any reviews or rating, suggesting it's a very new or unused app. In contrast, Omnibus Insight: Price History focuses on price transparency and compliance with the EU's Omnibus Directive, enabling merchants to display the lowest price of a product over a specified period. Omnibus Insight boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 6 reviews, suggesting early users are satisfied. Its core functionality revolves around automatically tracking and displaying price history, supporting multi-currency, language translation, and integration with Shopify Markets and B2B catalogs. This makes it specifically tailored for merchants operating in the EU or targeting EU customers who need to adhere to pricing transparency regulations.

Our Verdict
Based on the available information, Omnibus Insight: Price History is the more reliable and immediately valuable option for merchants who need to comply with EU pricing regulations. The app's features, combined with its positive reviews, suggest it effectively addresses the specific need for price transparency. AgeCheck 18+, while potentially useful for a specific subset of merchants, lacks any validation or evidence of its effectiveness and reliability.
If a merchant sells age-restricted items and needs age verification, they might consider AgeCheck 18+ but should proceed with extreme caution given the lack of reviews. In that case, alternative and well-reviewed age verification apps should also be heavily considered. However, for merchants focused on EU compliance and price transparency, Omnibus Insight: Price History appears to be a strong contender.
