AgeChecked vs AppsByB: Backup & Restorefor Shopify (2026)
AgeChecked and AppsByB: Backup & Restore address distinctly different needs for Shopify merchants in 2026. AgeChecked focuses on legal compliance, specifically age verification for products with age restrictions. Its strength lies in automating age checks at the thank you page, simplifying order fulfillment while meeting regulatory demands. It caters to merchants selling age-restricted goods like alcohol, tobacco, or certain entertainment products, emphasizing ease of setup and data security. AppsByB: Backup & Restore, conversely, targets merchants concerned with data security and store management across multiple platforms. It excels in providing scheduled backups of store data (products, content), offering a safety net against accidental changes or technical issues. Its data syncing capability proves valuable for businesses managing multiple Shopify stores or preparing for store migrations. The value proposition revolves around data protection and efficient cross-store management, appealing to a broader range of merchants. The critical difference lies in their core functions: AgeChecked addresses age compliance, while AppsByB addresses data backup and store synchronization. The lack of user reviews for AgeChecked does, however, introduce significant uncertainty about its real-world performance.

Our Verdict
Choosing between AgeChecked and AppsByB: Backup & Restore depends entirely on your business needs. If you sell age-restricted products and need to comply with regulations, AgeChecked *might* be the right choice. However, the complete lack of user reviews should give you pause, and further research into its reliability and support would be advisable. Be cautious, and look for reviews elsewhere. If data security and streamlined management across multiple Shopify stores are your priorities, AppsByB: Backup & Restore is the clear winner based on its positive user reviews and robust feature set.
Ultimately, AppsByB offers broader utility for most merchants, while AgeChecked serves a niche market. Due to the lack of user reviews, it's difficult to recommend AgeChecked outright. Merchants should prioritize AppsByB unless they have a specific, urgent need for age verification and are willing to thoroughly vet AgeChecked before implementation.
