It aims to minimize checkout friction by performing checks on the thank-you page and storing no sensitive data. Link Shortener ‑ Pasilobus, on the other hand, provides a URL shortening service directly within Shopify. Its goal is to improve brand recognition through branded short links and offer real-time analytics on link performance, catering to merchants seeking better control over their marketing campaigns. The key distinction lies in their core functionality: AgeChecked is a compliance tool for age-restricted products, while Link Shortener ‑ Pasilobus is a marketing optimization tool. AgeChecked's value proposition is risk mitigation and regulatory adherence; Link Shortener ‑ Pasilobus focuses on brand building and marketing analytics. While both operate within Shopify, they serve drastically different purposes and appeal to distinct merchant profiles. Our Verdict
AgeChecked is suitable for merchants who are legally obligated to verify the age of their customers due to selling age-restricted products. The benefit of AgeChecked lies in its seamless integration with the checkout process and automated verification, reducing the risk of non-compliance. However, the lack of reviews makes it hard to verify real-world performance. Link Shortener ‑ Pasilobus is a good choice for merchants who want to enhance their brand through branded short links and monitor the effectiveness of their marketing efforts. It offers valuable insights into link performance and provides better control over marketing campaigns.
Given the available data, and the criticality of compliance, AgeChecked is a must-have if you sell age-restricted goods and are legally obligated to verify age. While the lack of reviews is concerning, the alternative (manual verification) is likely more costly and error-prone. Link Shortener ‑ Pasilobus is valuable if you're actively running marketing campaigns and need to track the performance of your links.
