AI Agents ‑ Verify COD Orders vs COD Toolkit by Breezefor Shopify (2026)
AI Agents - Verify COD Orders and COD Toolkit by Breeze both aim to help Shopify merchants manage Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, but they approach the problem from fundamentally different angles. AI Agents focuses on automating verification and follow-up through AI-powered agents on WhatsApp and calls, targeting merchants struggling with high Return to Origin (RTO) and Non-Delivery Report (NDR) rates. It positions itself as a comprehensive solution to reduce losses and improve delivery rates through proactive communication and real-time shipment tracking. COD Toolkit, on the other hand, offers more granular control over COD availability by allowing merchants to create rules based on order value, location, and other factors, and to customize the payment option name. The primary difference lies in their functionality. AI Agents aims to actively manage the order lifecycle, while COD Toolkit focuses on defining the conditions under which COD is offered. The former is built around automation and communication; the latter around control and customization. Currently, COD Toolkit has a perfect 5/5 rating with 14 reviews, indicating existing user satisfaction, while AI Agents has no reviews, suggesting it is either very new or struggling to gain traction. This lack of social proof for AI Agents is a significant concern at the time of this comparison.

Our Verdict
For merchants experiencing significant RTO/NDR problems and willing to invest in an AI-driven solution integrated with WhatsApp, AI Agents - Verify COD Orders presents a compelling option, *if* it can demonstrate positive results and acquire reviews. However, given the lack of social proof in 2026, proceeding with caution and potentially seeking a trial period is advisable. The multilingual support could be valuable for international expansion. For merchants primarily seeking to control which customers are eligible for COD based on pre-defined criteria, and who prefer a simpler, rules-based approach, COD Toolkit by Breeze is the safer and more immediately useful option, especially given its positive reviews.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
COD Toolkit by Breeze is likely easier to set up and use. Its functionality revolves around setting up rules in the Shopify admin panel. AI Agents requires integration with WhatsApp Business and configuration of the AI agents, which could be more complex.
Which app is better for reducing RTO?
AI Agents - Verify COD Orders is specifically designed to reduce RTO through AI-powered order verification, shipping updates, and follow-up. COD Toolkit only reduces RTO indirectly, by blocking COD in areas or for order values where RTO is likely to be high.
Does either app offer customer support?
The descriptions don't explicitly mention customer support. It is implied AI Agents has some level of support given it provides a service. However, with only 14 reviews and a 5/5 rating, COD Toolkit likely provides adequate support.
Can I use both apps together?
Using both apps simultaneously may lead to conflicts. AI Agents could interfere with orders that COD Toolkit has blocked or modified. A careful analysis of their functionalities is needed before integration.
Which app is best for international Shopify stores?
AI Agents boasts multilingual support, making it potentially more suitable for international stores. COD Toolkit does allow location-based rules, which is useful internationally, but lacks the direct translation benefits of AI Agents.
