AI Copilot vs AppsByB: Backup & Restorefor Shopify (2026)
AI Copilot and AppsByB: Backup & Restore target entirely different needs within a Shopify store. AI Copilot aims to streamline product creation and optimization using AI. Its key focus is on simplifying product management tasks like generating descriptions, images, and variants through a conversational interface. In contrast, AppsByB: Backup & Restore focuses on data security and multi-store management, providing tools for backing up store data, syncing information between stores, and copying products across environments. The primary differentiator lies in their functionalities. AI Copilot offers features centered on AI-driven product content creation and optimization. It promises to reduce the time spent on product listing tasks. AppsByB, on the other hand, provides essential data protection and store synchronization capabilities. The AppsByB app may appeal to larger, more complex businesses, or simply those that have been burned by lost data in the past and want a robust backup and recovery system. The complete lack of ratings or reviews for AI Copilot is a serious concern, potentially indicating a very new or problematic app.

Our Verdict
Given the information available, AppsByB: Backup & Restore is the stronger recommendation. Its perfect rating and user reviews suggest it reliably delivers its core function of data protection and synchronization. AI Copilot, while potentially useful for streamlining product creation, carries significant risk due to the complete absence of reviews, rendering its efficacy and reliability uncertain.
Merchants who prioritize data security and need to manage multiple stores should choose AppsByB. Merchants struggling with basic product listing creation could explore AI Copilot IF they are comfortable with high risk. However, due to the lack of reviews, merchants considering AI Copilot should proceed with extreme caution and thoroughly test the app before committing to any paid plan.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
AI Copilot aims for simplicity with its conversational interface. However, without user reviews, its actual ease of use is unknown. AppsByB requires setup for backups and connections, but the reviews suggest it is manageable.
Which app is more critical for business continuity?
AppsByB is far more critical. Data loss can cripple a business. While AI Copilot might improve efficiency, data backups are fundamental.
Is AppsByB only useful for stores with multiple shops?
No. While store-to-store synching is a key feature, the backup functionality alone provides vital value to any store owner looking to protect their business-critical data.
If a merchant has great product descriptions already, is AI Copilot still a good choice?
Potentially, if they want to leverage AI for image generation or SEO optimization. However, the lack of reviews makes it difficult to assess its usefulness. The value proposition significantly diminishes, though.
What if AI Copilot gets more reviews with a perfect rating later on?
Then, the recommendation would shift. A perfect rating from a substantial number of users would indicate reliability. It would then be a more viable option for merchants needing help with product creation, despite the different functions. As it stands, avoid the app until further rating and reviews appear.
