AI Virtual Try‑On by EdgeCloud vs Geenee Glasses Virtual Try‑Onfor Shopify (2026)
AI Virtual Try‑On by EdgeCloud and Geenee Glasses Virtual Try‑On both target Shopify merchants seeking to enhance the customer experience through virtual try-on technology in the 3D/AR/VR app category. However, they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. EdgeCloud's app focuses on general apparel, utilizing AI to adjust clothing to user-uploaded selfies, aiming for a personalized shopping experience across mobile and desktop. Geenee Glasses Virtual Try-On, on the other hand, is specifically designed for eyewear stores, leveraging Generative AI to create 3D models from existing 2D product images, thus removing the need for manually creating 3D assets. This makes it a powerful tool for eyewear stores seeking to quickly and easily implement virtual try-on without complex 3D modeling processes. The key differentiator lies in the product focus and 3D model creation method. EdgeCloud relies on users providing a selfie, making it suitable for various clothing items. Geenee focuses exclusively on eyewear and streamlines the 3D model generation process using GenAI, which saves merchants time and resources. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on whether a merchant sells apparel or eyewear and their comfort level with providing selfies versus relying on product images to generate 3D models. The current lack of ratings for Geenee makes it difficult to gauge overall user satisfaction and reliability compared to EdgeCloud's perfect, albeit limited, rating.

Our Verdict
For eyewear retailers, Geenee Glasses Virtual Try-On appears to be the clear winner, offering a streamlined 3D model creation process and Augmented Reality try-on designed specifically for their product category. The GenAI approach eliminates the need for complex 3D asset management, which is a significant advantage. However, the lack of reviews raises concerns about the app's reliability and overall user experience.
For apparel retailers selling clothing other than eyewear, AI Virtual Try‑On by EdgeCloud is the more suitable choice. Its focus on AI-driven fit alignment with user selfies allows for a broader application across various clothing types. While the review count is minimal, the perfect rating suggests that users who have tried the app have had a positive experience. Until Geenee Glasses Virtual Try-On gathers some user feedback, it's hard to recommend due to a lack of any user reviews.
