AirLock ‑ GeoShield & IP Block vs Evereye | Fraud Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
AirLock ‑ GeoShield & IP Block and Evereye | Fraud Protection both aim to reduce fraud for Shopify merchants, but they approach the problem from different angles. AirLock focuses on proactive prevention by allowing merchants to block unwanted visitors based on IP address and country. It boasts AI-enhanced detection and offers granular control, particularly appealing to merchants concerned about specific geographic or IP-based threats. Evereye, on the other hand, concentrates on identifying and preventing fraudulent orders before they ship. Its key strength is a money-back guarantee against chargebacks, providing a safety net and potentially attracting merchants prioritizing financial security above all else. The target audiences differ. AirLock seems tailored towards larger merchants, especially Shopify Plus users who can leverage the checkout UI blocking features. Its focus on IP and country blocking suggests merchants experiencing targeted attacks or those operating in specific regions with known fraud risks. Evereye appears geared towards a broader audience, including those less technically inclined. Its promise of easy setup, quick approvals, and human support makes it attractive to merchants wanting a hands-off solution that reduces chargebacks and enables international sales without added risk.

Our Verdict
For Shopify Plus merchants dealing with sophisticated, targeted attacks from specific regions or IP addresses, AirLock ‑ GeoShield & IP Block is likely the better choice. Its granular control and AI-enhanced detection provide powerful tools for proactive defense. The checkout UI blocking is a significant advantage for Plus users.
However, for the vast majority of merchants, especially those new to fraud prevention or those expanding internationally, Evereye | Fraud Protection is the more compelling option. The guarantee against chargebacks provides peace of mind, and the easy setup and dedicated support make it a user-friendly solution. If the goal is to minimize financial risk from fraudulent orders with minimal effort, Evereye is the clear winner.
Common Questions
What happens if AirLock blocks legitimate customers?
AirLock allows customization of the blocking experience, allowing merchants to display a blank screen, a popup, or redirect blocked visitors. Careful configuration is needed to avoid over-blocking.
What types of fraud does Evereye cover with its guarantee?
The description states Evereye pays for chargebacks. It's important to review the full terms of service for specifics, but implied is coverage of fraud that leads to chargebacks (e.g., unauthorized credit card use).
Can I use both AirLock and Evereye together?
Potentially, but it might be redundant. AirLock blocks unwanted visitors at the door, while Evereye focuses on pre-shipment fraud detection. If you're experiencing both broad traffic issues and fraudulent orders getting through, combining them *might* be beneficial, but careful consideration is needed to avoid conflicts.
Is AirLock useful for stores that only sell locally?
Yes, if the store is experiencing bot traffic or attacks originating from other countries. AirLock's IP blocking could also be beneficial to block known malicious IPs even within the same country.
Does Evereye require any technical expertise to set up and use?
The description highlights easy setup and integration. While some technical understanding is always helpful, Evereye is designed for non-technical users with its emphasis on quick onboarding and dedicated support.
