Airwallex Fraud Protection vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
Airwallex Fraud Protection and Subuno both aim to help Shopify merchants prevent fraud, but they take different approaches. Airwallex positions itself as a cutting-edge solution, leveraging AI and a large transaction network to make real-time fraud decisions. Its key strength lies in its automation and promise of increased payment success rates due to AI-driven accuracy. Subuno, on the other hand, focuses on providing a rules-based, customizable fraud prevention platform designed to complement existing processes. The primary difference lies in their underlying technology and control offered to the merchant. Airwallex emphasizes a 'hands-off' AI-powered approach, while Subuno provides granular control through customizable rules and manual review tools. Airwallex may appeal to larger businesses with higher transaction volumes seeking automated fraud management and potentially better payment success. Subuno appears more suitable for businesses seeking a flexible, customizable solution with manual review options and tighter control over fraud screening processes.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Airwallex Fraud Protection and Subuno depends on the merchant's priorities and technical expertise. Airwallex might be a better fit for larger businesses seeking a highly automated, 'hands-off' fraud prevention solution leveraging AI and aiming for increased payment conversion rates. The high security standards compliance also makes it attractive for businesses handling sensitive data.
Subuno, with its rules-based system and manual review tools, provides more flexibility and control. It's more suitable for merchants who want granular control over their fraud prevention process and prefer a customizable solution they can fine-tune. The lack of explicit security standards mentions is a potential drawback. Given the limited number of reviews for both, further investigation and potentially trials are recommended.
