Alarmify ‑ Inventory Alarm vs Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phifor Shopify (2026)
Alarmify ‑ Inventory Alarm and Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi both aim to improve the out-of-stock product experience on Shopify stores, but they tackle the problem from fundamentally different angles. Alarmify focuses on recapturing lost sales by allowing customers to sign up for back-in-stock email notifications, providing merchants with data on product demand and enabling personalized communication. It heavily emphasizes GDPR and CCPA compliance with servers located in the EU and a focus on privacy. The small number of reviews is a significant point to consider. Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi, on the other hand, automates the process of hiding sold-out products and republishing them when they are back in stock. It offers features like scheduled hiding/publishing, multi-location inventory management, smart redirects for out-of-stock pages, and real-time notifications through email and Slack. It is designed for merchants who prefer to hide sold-out items, potentially improving the shopping experience and preventing frustration. The significantly higher review count suggests greater market adoption and a more established user base.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing recapturing lost sales, gaining insights into product demand, and adhering to strict data privacy standards (GDPR/CCPA), Alarmify ‑ Inventory Alarm is the better option, *assuming* they are comfortable with a low review count and thus potentially less real-world validation. The ability to use a custom domain for emails is a significant advantage.
However, if the primary goal is to automate out-of-stock product management, improve customer experience by hiding sold-out items, and leverage multi-location inventory support, Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi is the stronger choice. Its higher review count provides more social proof and indicates broader user adoption. If a business needs the convenience of automatic hiding and republishing based on stock levels, and real-time notifications via Slack are valuable, then Stockyphi is the recommended choice.
