Alert Me! Restock Alerts vs Preorder, Back In Stock ‑ STOQfor Shopify (2026)
Alert Me! Restock Alerts and Preorder, Back In Stock ‑ STOQ both address the problem of lost sales due to out-of-stock products, but they approach the solution from slightly different angles and cater to different merchant needs. Alert Me! Restock Alerts focuses primarily on simple and hands-free restock notifications. It aims to quickly re-engage customers who previously showed interest in unavailable products. STOQ, on the other hand, offers a broader suite of tools, including preorder functionality, backorders, and partial payment options, in addition to back-in-stock alerts. STOQ is designed for merchants who want to capture revenue even *before* the product is back in stock and require more advanced features and customization. While both offer customization and integration, STOQ emphasizes deeper functionality like B2B preorders, Klaviyo integration, and multi-location support, suggesting a focus on larger or more complex businesses. Alert Me! emphasizes ease of use and quick setup for smaller businesses needing a streamlined restock alert solution.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with quickly and easily notifying customers when products are back in stock and don't need advanced features like preorders or partial payments, Alert Me! Restock Alerts is likely the better option. Its focus on simplicity and hands-free operation makes it ideal for smaller businesses or those with limited technical resources. Its 'Cool Analytics' provide helpful insights to optimize inventory management.
However, if the goal is to capture revenue from out-of-stock products through preorders, backorders, or presales, and the business requires more advanced features like Klaviyo integration, B2B support, and partial payment options, then Preorder, Back In Stock ‑ STOQ is the superior choice. While it may require a bit more setup and configuration, its comprehensive feature set offers greater flexibility and potential for increased revenue.
