Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants seeking a simple and immediate way to monitor order activity, Alerty: Alerts for Google Chat may be suitable, assuming the lack of reviews is due to its newness and not fundamental issues. However, the absence of any user feedback presents a risk. Auto Purchase Orders is the clear choice for businesses grappling with purchase order management, dropshipping complexities, or inventory control challenges. Its high rating and multiple reviews suggest a reliable and feature-rich solution. For smaller businesses or those primarily wanting notification of new orders, they should see if there are other apps with more reviews, since this one has none. If a business has complex inventory and fulfillment needs, Auto Purchase Orders would be the better option.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Alerty likely has a simpler setup process due to its limited functionality. Auto Purchase Orders, with its broader feature set, will likely require more time and effort to configure effectively.
Which app is better for dropshipping businesses?
Auto Purchase Orders is explicitly designed to automate dropship POs, making it significantly better suited for dropshipping businesses than Alerty, which provides no dropshipping support.
Which app is suitable for a high-volume store?
Auto Purchase Orders, with its robust automation features and ability to handle multiple suppliers and orders, is better equipped to manage the complexities of a high-volume store.
Can both apps send notifications to staff?
While Alerty directly notifies staff via Google Chat, Auto Purchase Orders primarily focuses on purchase order related communication with suppliers and internally. However, Auto Purchase Orders may also trigger notifications internally (not Google Chat) upon receiving inventory, etc..
Which app is more valuable if I already use a different purchase order system?
Auto Purchase Orders is likely redundant if you have an existing system that is adequate. Alerty could provide additional value by surfacing the right information to Google Chat but this is dependent on the merchant using Google Chat.
