Our Verdict
The choice between Alia: Email & SMS Popups and Avada GDPR Cookies Consent depends entirely on the merchant's primary need. If the merchant's main focus is growing their email and SMS lists and driving sales through popups, Alia might be a suitable option (assuming it has a good feature set for its function, which the provided data does not show). However, given the increasingly strict data privacy regulations, *every* merchant operating globally *needs* a robust cookie consent solution.
Therefore, Avada GDPR Cookies Consent is the essential app for most Shopify merchants, especially those operating in or targeting customers in regions with data privacy laws. Its comprehensive features and focus on compliance make it the more critical investment. Alia might be considered *in addition* to a compliance solution, but never *instead of* one.
Common Questions
Can I use Alia to become GDPR compliant?
Based on the information provided, Alia's primary function is email and SMS popups, not GDPR compliance. You would need a dedicated app like Avada GDPR Cookies Consent for that.
