AliExpress Reviews Importer vs Lipscore Product Reviewsfor Shopify (2026)
AliExpress Reviews Importer and Lipscore Product Reviews are both Shopify apps in the product reviews category, but cater to fundamentally different merchant needs. AliExpress Reviews Importer focuses on quickly populating a store with initial reviews by importing them from AliExpress. Its strength lies in rapid setup and CSV export for use with other review apps, potentially useful for new stores seeking initial social proof. However, the source of these reviews may raise concerns about authenticity for some customers. In contrast, Lipscore Product Reviews aims to generate authentic, verified customer feedback directly from buyers after a purchase. This approach builds long-term trust and provides valuable, actionable insights into customer satisfaction. Lipscore's features are oriented towards collecting, displaying, and leveraging real customer feedback to improve search visibility and drive conversions. The key distinction is the review source: AliExpress for the former, and verified customer purchases for the latter. Lipscore's feature set goes beyond simple review importing, offering Q&A, syndication, and Google Search integration. The choice between the two depends heavily on the merchant's business model and priorities. If immediate review population is the primary goal, AliExpress Reviews Importer offers a quick solution. If building trust with authentic customer feedback and leveraging reviews for SEO and conversion optimization is paramount, Lipscore is the better choice.

Our Verdict
For new stores launching with limited marketing budgets and needing an immediate boost in perceived credibility, AliExpress Reviews Importer could be a viable short-term solution, acknowledging the potential ethical considerations of using AliExpress reviews. However, the long-term strategy should be transitioning to authentic reviews. On the other hand, Lipscore is ideal for businesses aiming to build lasting trust and leverage customer feedback for sustainable growth. Its focus on verified reviews, actionable insights, and integration with Google makes it a more robust solution for established stores or those prioritizing authenticity from the outset.
Ultimately, Lipscore offers a more comprehensive and trustworthy approach to product reviews, despite requiring more initial effort to set up the automated feedback process. The investment in generating genuine reviews and leveraging them for SEO and conversion optimization will likely provide a higher return in the long run, particularly as consumers become increasingly discerning about the authenticity of online reviews.
Common Questions
What are the key differences in how these apps handle review authenticity?
AliExpress Reviews Importer imports reviews directly from AliExpress, which might not reflect the actual customer experience of *your* store. Lipscore collects reviews from verified customers who have purchased from your store, ensuring authenticity.
Which app is better for SEO?
Lipscore is significantly better for SEO because it allows you to display ratings and reviews in Google Search and Shopping Ads. AliExpress Reviews Importer does not offer direct SEO features, although having more reviews *could* indirectly improve SEO.
How easy is it to set up each app?
AliExpress Reviews Importer is likely faster to set up initially, as it primarily involves importing existing reviews. Lipscore requires setting up automated feedback requests, which takes more time but provides a sustainable review generation system.
Which app provides more actionable insights?
Lipscore provides more actionable insights because it collects verified feedback directly from customers, allowing you to understand their specific experiences and identify areas for improvement. It also includes Q&A features.
What happens if I switch from AliExpress Reviews Importer to Lipscore?
If you switch, you'll need to remove the AliExpress-imported reviews and begin collecting authentic reviews through Lipscore's feedback request system. Exporting the AliExpress data to clean it up is a recommended step.
