AlterEgo Virtual Fitting vs Camweara Virtual Try Onfor Shopify (2026)
AlterEgo Virtual Fitting and Camweara Virtual Try On both aim to reduce returns and increase conversions using virtual try-on technology, but they approach the problem differently. AlterEgo focuses specifically on clothing, using avatar-based 3D fitting to ensure accurate garment sizing and reduce uncertainty about fit. It positions itself as a solution to sizing issues, focusing on creating a digital twin of garments from production data. Camweara, on the other hand, is a broader AR application, supporting a wider range of products, including jewelry, eyewear, watches, clothes, hats, wigs, and nail polish. It emphasizes a realistic and interactive experience through live video, photo modes, AI image editing, and 3D views. The core difference lies in the user experience and technology used. AlterEgo relies on creating accurate avatars to facilitate garment fitting, targeting merchants who struggle with returns due to clothing size and fit issues. Camweara employs augmented reality (AR) to allow users to virtually try on products in real-time using their device's camera, appealing to merchants with diverse product offerings and those wanting to leverage the latest AR technology to attract Gen Z. The number of reviews indicates Camweara has a more established presence, despite both apps having a 5/5 rating.
